MF C4H10O2 1,4-Butanediol BDO For Glycol Ester And Tetrahydrofuran
1,4-Butanediol (BDO for short) is a colorless oily liquid, flammable and miscible with water. BDO is an important organic and fine chemical raw material, which is widely used in the fields of medicine, chemical industry, textile, papermaking, automobile and daily chemical industry. BDO can produce tetrahydrofuran (THF), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), γ-butyrolactone (GBL) and polyurethane resin (PU Resin), coatings and plasticizers, etc., as well as solvents and electroplating industry extenders, etc. Among them, THF is dehydrated and mixed to produce polymethylene glycol (PTMEG), and PTMEG is the basic raw material for synthesizing spandex, polyether elastomer and thermoplastic polyurethane. In addition, BDO can also be used in the preparation of vitamin B6, adipic acid, acetal and 1,3-butadiene, as an intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and pesticides, as a solvent, coating resin, moisturizing agent, softener, Chain extenders and crosslinkers, etc. Therefore, BDO is widely used in the fields of medicine, textile, chemical industry, papermaking, automobile and daily chemical industry.

Precautions
Extinguishing methods: mist water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand; its vapor is heavier than air, easy to accumulate in low places, the vapor in the enclosed area can explode in case of fire, if the substance or contaminated fluid enters the waterway, notify Downstream users of potential water contamination, notify local health, fire officials and pollution control departments; use water spray to cool exposed containers from safe explosion-proof distances; if cooling water flow does not work (elevated discharge volume, pitch, tank discoloration or any signs of deformation), evacuate immediately to a safe area.
Toxicity is low toxicity.
Packaging and storage: It is packed in aluminum, galvanized iron drums or plastic drums, or stored and transported by tank trucks as flammable and toxic substances. Because the melting point is as high as 20 ℃, the tank car should be equipped with a heating tube.
Precautions for storage and transportation: Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse, keep away from fire and heat sources, prevent direct sunlight, keep the container sealed, and store it separately from oxidants and acids, lightly unload during handling, keep the packaging intact, and prevent spillage. Do not mix storage. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. Storage areas should be equipped with emergency release equipment and suitable containment materials.
